Where does Suo’s work come from? Let's go back to unstable and negative things such as anxiety, pain, sadness, disease, pollution, and death. We live as if they never came to an end - something that was never completely finished. Such a life can feel strange and sometimes bizarre. The work expressed in this way ultimately ends up as something that disappears but does not disappear, or a feeling that cannot disappear even while disappearing. ​

 

   Water, paper and fire are the most important elements of the work. The three elements create countless things between wetness and dryness. The work exists only as a form of art itself, and does not converge into a specific theme, meaning, or narrative. And everything that is visible remains as its own universal words.

​  Any attempt to determine or define it brings it closer to being wrong. When we begin to name things, we inevitably become inclined, and just like some things that exist most intensely just before we name them,* we must think about things that are disappearing from our side.
