Dexter Park은 꾸준한 드로잉을 기반으로 주변에서 흥미를 가진 요소들을 회화적으로 옮기는 방법에 대해 다양하게 고민한다.
작가에게 드로잉은 이미 하나의 습관으로 형성된 일상적 행위에 가까우며, 작가의 눈에 포착된 요소는 계속해서 분해와 재구축의 과정을 거친다.
이번 개인전 《Strangely Synchronized》에서는 작가가 가장 오랫동안 보아온 자신의 손을 주제로 한다. 손은 의사소통의 수단이자, 섬세한 움직임을 바탕으로 다양한 감정과 의미를 함축할 수 있는 신체부위다. 동시에 회화에서는 오랫동안 기술적으로 연마하기에 좋은 피사체이도 하다.
작가는 팬데믹 기간을 포함하여 격리된 기간 동안 보았던 손, 일상생활에서의 손, 회화적으로 바라보는 손 등 자신의 시선으로 오랫동안 바라본 손을 다양한 드로잉으로 표현한다.

Based on his consistent drawings, Dexter Park thinks about various ways to pictorially translate elements of interest from his surroundings.
For the artist, drawing is close to a daily act that has already formed a habit, and the elements captured in the artist's eyes continue to go through a process of decomposition and reconstruction.
In this solo exhibition Strangely Synchronized, the theme is the artist's own hands, which he has seen for the longest time. Hands are a means of communication and a body part that can imply various emotions and meanings based on delicate movements. At the same time, it is a good subject for long-term technical practice in painting.
The artist expresses through various drawings the hands he has looked at for a long time through his own eyes, including the hands he has seen during the quarantine period, including the pandemic period, the hands he has seen in everyday life, and the hands he has looked at pictorially.
